Hinton & District Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce is the premier organization to further the interests of business. In recent years the Hinton & District Chamber of Commerce has been involved in rewriting the Offsite Levy Bylaw, one of the most important changes in our community in a very long time; has had significant input on the Municipal Land Use Bylaw, critical regulation for business; and has provided input in every proposed change that might impact local business.
Support does not stop there, however. Your fees also support the Provincial, Federal and International Chambers to ensure that the important views of the business community are reflected in government decision making. It is important for businesses to support the Chamber both with ideas and with financial support by buying an annual membership.
Speaking with a unified voice - Your local Chamber provides a powerful voice on behalf of the business community; it speaks out on issues such as taxes, transportation and education that affect your business.
Businesses both small and large support the Chamber because it makes good sense. Business is best represented speaking with a unified voice. That expanded voice carries significantly more credibly then when those same issues are raised individually.
Support With All Levels of Government - Locally, your Chamber works closely with our municipal government to ensure you have a voice in local decision making, but your Membership also supports the Provincial, Federal and International Chambers to ensure that business has a voice.
How Important is Cooperation - It is imperative that Business discusses the issues that are important to them. The Chamber will represent the interests identified by our members as being important. Get involved and make a difference in the community and in your business.
Your Membership lends credibility to the Chamber, but also to your business. The Chamber is always looking for ways to bring visibility to the business community and encourages members to do business with each other. There is also the opportunity for visibility through the Chamber website or any one of The Chamber events.
Research shows people tend to buy more from chamber businesses because they trust them.
